Kazuhiko Hachiya


Born in 1966. Based in Tokyo, Japan.

Graduated from Kyushu Institute of Design (currently Faculty of Art and Design, Kyushu University). After working for a consulting firm, founded PetWORKs Inc. Currently Professor at the Department of Intermedia Art, Tokyo University of the Arts.
His works include communication tools such as “Inter-DisCommunication Machine” and “PostPet,” the “AirBoard,” a skateboard that floats and glides on a jet engine, and “OpenSky” a project to build an actual working airplane””Möwe” a fictional aircraft from a science fiction animation. Most of his works are devices with functions.
His most recent solo exhibition is “Kazuhiko Hachiya Special Exhibition “M-02J and HK1” – Fascinated by tail-less aircraft,” Aichi Aviation Museum (2022).
