Yuko Mohri

毛利悠子

Born in 1980 in Kanagawa, Japan. Based in Tokyo, Japan.
Yuko Mohri works on installations that detect invisible and intangible energies such as gravity, magnetic and wind. Her major solo exhibitions include: SP. (2020; Ginza Sony Park, Tokyo, Japan); Voluta (2018; Camden Arts Centre, London, UK); Assume That There Is Friction and Resistance (2018; Towada Arts Center, Aomori, Japan). She has also participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions such as: 23rd Biennale of Sydney (2022; Australia); 34th Bienal de São Paulo (2021; Brazil); Glasgow International 2021 (UK), among others. She is also the grantee of the Asian Cultural Council for a 6-month residency in New York (2015; USA) and the recipient of the Grand Prix, Nissan Art Award (2015; Japan); The 67th Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists (2017; Japan). In 2018, Mohri, as East Asian Cultural Exchange Envoy, visited 4 cities in China.
